Montague Public School’s Bike Rodeo, May 20, 2014

One of the things our engineer Connie Houk does is to help schools prepare SR2S Grants via the Michigan Fitness Foundation. This year she was able to help distribute 12 Micro Grants of $700 to various schools. The grant money is used to purchase motivational items to help encourage students to walk and bike to and from school, changing their behavior, and becoming more physically fit.

Montague Area Public Schools chose to use some of the money to buy 100 bike helmets to give away at its 15th Annual Bike Rodeo that attracted 259 child-participants. The school added onto this event this year by having a Bike-2-School Day.
