Overall Role
To utilize Computer Aided Drafting and Design Software to generate detailed construction drawings, topographic maps, surveys, figures, exhibits and record plans for civil engineering projects, and to assist civil engineers in completion of plans and all phases of design.
Essential Responsibilities
- Apply established CADD standards to all phases of documents.
- Create construction drawings using survey and/or aerial information.
- Generate survey and easement documentation.
- Update construction drawings for record plans, upon project completion.
- Assist civil engineers in the office with CADD related questions.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate digital plotters and copiers to plot report figures and construction drawings at various scales.
- Keep track of paper plots chargeable to client.
- Keep supervisor up-to-date on progress of job(s).
- Other duties as needed.
Working Conditions and Environment
CADD Technicians work mainly in an office environment. The noise level is usually low to moderate. CADD Technicians must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with Civil3D 2020 or higher
- Experience with AutoCAD 2020 or higher
- Knowledge of Revit 2020 or above
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong and consistent attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Education and Experience
Minimum
- Associates Degree or Certifications in CAD, Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- 1+ year of related experience
Preferred
- Bachelors Degree in CAD, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- 3+ years of related experience
