We are looking for a Site Development Designer to provide high-quality site and land development services for our clients while supporting the Civil Engineers and Landscape Architects on infrastructure projects. As a Site Development Designer, you will be aiding in the planning, design and professional oversight of site development projects.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations and analyses.
- Create and format site layout plans utilizing AutoCAD.
- Create grading and pipe network plans utilizing AutoCAD.
- Perform Civil 3D earthwork calculations.
- Create Engineers’ probable cost of construction spreadsheets with guidance from the Project Manager.
- Professionally and thoroughly communicate with all parties of the projects as necessary via phone, email and in-person meetings.
- Other responsibilities as necessary.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- AutoCAD experience a must, Civil 3D experience a plus.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow through.
- Ability to adapt and reorganize tasks to manage competing deadlines.
- Confident in asking for guidance and eager to enhance skill set.
Working Conditions and Environment
The Site Development Designer works both in the office and out in the field. There is a moderate amount of travel to and from job sites. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. He/she must frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities include depth perception, color vision, close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Education and Experience
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field is preferred but not required.
- 1-5+ years of progressively responsible experience within the Construction, Design or Landscape Architecture fields.
