Important Information

Contract No. 1: Construct force main from West Randall lift station in City of Coopersville to Ottawa County line.

Access/Traffic: Local traffic will be maintained during pipeline construction. There may be times when your driveway is inaccessible because pipeline construction is occurring in front of your house or driveway restoration is taking place. The contractor will work with you ahead of time and will make special access arrangements with you if needed.

Mail: Mailboxes that interfere with pipeline construction will be temporarily relocated so that mail service can be maintained during construction. If your mailbox needs to be temporarily relocated, the contractor will inform you of where it has been moved to and when they anticipate it will be returned to its original location.

Garbage Pickup: The contractor will work with you and your waste hauler to maintain service throughout construction. If pipeline construction interferes with your waste haulers ability to pick up your garbage, the contractor will temporarily move your garbage bins to a central location and return them to the end of your driveway by the end of the work day.

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Wilson Street. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed 1,450 of force main last week. Force main installation is approaching Taft St.
  • Most culvert installation is complete between Cleveland St. and Taft St.
  • 80th Avenue preliminary road building continues behind the force main construction.
  • Partial milling of southbound lane of 80th Ave between Taft St and Wilson St.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation north of Taft St. and road building.

August 8, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Heights Ravenna Road. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Force main construction has progressed north of Applegate Dairy and is nearing Taft Street.
  • Pig launch/bypass has been installed at Applegate Dairy.
  • The Applegate Dairy branch has been installed and will be tied in later.
  • 80th Avenue preliminary road building continues behind the force main construction.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation and road building.
July 14, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Heights Ravenna Road. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Laid approximately 1,400 feet of force main along 80th Avenue.
  • Installing gravel base behind pipe laying operation.
  • Replacing culverts as force main construction progresses.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue laying pipe northward.

July 3, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Heights Ravenna Road. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Laid approximately 1,100 feet of force main along 80th Avenue.
  • Installed pipeline beneath TC Energy pipeline.
  • Began fence installation at Continental Dairy and Ottawa County Road Commission sites.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue laying pipe northward.
  • Begin initial restoration behind pipe laying operation.

June 30, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Heights Ravenna Road. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.**

Work completed/in progress:

  • Laid approximately 600 feet of force main along 80th Avenue.
  • Began restoration work on 80th Avenue behind pipe installation.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue laying pipe northward.
  • Install fence at Continental Dairy and Ottawa County Road Commission sites.
June 23, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Heights Ravenna Road. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Laid approximately 500 feet of force main along 80th Avenue.
  • Crossed two large drain culverts with force main and replaced culverts.
  • Continued restoration east of 80th Avenue.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue laying force main from south to north along 80th Avenue.
  • Shape ditches and build road following force main installation.
June 16, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Heights Ravenna Road. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Close 80th Avenue.
  • Mill partial width of the southbound lane of 80th Avenue.
  • Begin force main installation in 80th Avenue.
  • Continue with restoration on Continental Dairy property.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue laying force main from south to north along 80th Avenue.
  • Cross Seamore Drain and install replacement culvert.
  • Continue restoration on Continental Dairy property.
June 9, 2025

**Cleveland Street is open.**

**Starting Monday, 80th Avenue will be closed from Cleveland Street north to Heights Ravenna Road. Detour will be via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several weeks.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Pressure test of force main installed to-date was successful. Force main was emptied of test water.
  • Force main installed through Cleveland Street.
  • Cleveland Street restored and opened to traffic.
  • Restoration continued along railroad corridor.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Close 80th Avenue.
  • Mill partial width of the southbound lane of 80th Avenue.
  • Begin force main installation in 80th Avenue.
May 30, 2025

**Cleveland Street between 80th Avenue and 72nd Avenue will be closed starting Monday, June 2. Closure will be in place for approximately one week. ***

Cleveland Street Detour

Work completed/in progress:

  • Locate existing utilities near Cleveland Street in preparation for Cleveland Street crossing.
  • Pressure test of force main ongoing.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Close Cleveland Street and install force main across road near 80th Avenue.

 

May 27, 2025

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 900 feet of force main.
  • 72nd Ave restored and opened to traffic.
  • Restored farmland east and west of 72nd Ave.
  • Filled force main in preparation for pressure testing.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Locate existing utilities near Cleveland Street in preparation for Cleveland Street crossing.
  • Perform pressure test of force main installed to date.
