Force Main: K&R is nearing the completion of FM installation on Beeline Road as they near 128th Ave. A road restoration crew will follow behind the pipe crew along Beeline Road. The crew will then proceed north along 128th Ave, tentatively starting mid-September.

Traffic: 128th Avenue is closed to through traffic as of Tuesday (Sept 2). K&R is working on pavement removal along 128th Ave in preparation for a 2nd pipe crew to install force main. K&R is nearing completion of force main installation along Beeline Road, and upon completion a road restoration crew will follow.

Pump Station: Building construction continues as masonry for the valve chamber is nearing completion. Crews will be working on truss installation and roof construction this week.

Force Main: K&R continues to work north along Beeline Road. The 2nd pipe crew will begin installation north of Riley next week.

Gravity Sewer: Sanitary gravity sewer is up to Corporate Circle Drive. Installation will continue later this fall.

Pump Station: The valve chamber lid has been poured, now completing the structural underground items. Backfill operations continue as the upstream 24-inch gravity sewer continues to be installed.

Force Main: The intersection of James & Beeline has now been open, as K&R continues to work north along Beeline Road. K&R discovered a utility conflict along Beeline Road which will impact the installation of the force main pipe. The Township and Contractor are coordinating with the utility company to resolve this conflict diligently and appreciate residents’ coordination as we work through a solution.

Gravity Sewer: Sanitary gravity sewer has begun north of the pump station. K&R will install the 24-inch gravity sewer south to north.

Pump Station:

The wetwell walls and top have been tested and the railsystem removed. Backfill is partially complete, and now K&R is working on the valve chamber.

Force Main:

Installation of the 30-inch force main along River Hills Drive has been completed road restoration continues. Besides the road paving and restoration along River Hills, most of the work south of Beeline/James is substantially completed. Work along Beeline has now begun. The road and pathway removal began last week, and K&R plans to begin excavation in the intersection of Beeline/James this week. Closure of the intersection is expected to be 4 weeks. Crews will install force main south to north.

Pump Station: The wetwell walls have been poured and the forms were removed Monday (12th). Testing will need to be completed on the wetwell (leakage, concrete strength, etc) in the future. The wetwell lid is being prepped for construction. Once testing is complete, the trench box rail system will be removed and the outside of the wetwell will be backfilled/compacted.

Force Main: Installation of the 30-inch force main along River Hills Drive has progressed. K&R completed the ZBPW transmission main crossing at Scotts Drive last week successfully (see below pictures). K&R is preparing to pressure test a section of FM pipe and then start restoration at the Macatawa Bank property.

Future Schedule (Tentative): Beeline Road Closure: June 2, 2025

Pump Station: Progress continues to be made on the pump station site as the wet well walls as Jelsema plans to pour the second half of the wetwell wall this week.

Force Main: Lowe completed the bore & jack under Lakewood Blvd last week. The 30″ HDPE force main carrier pipe was pushed through the casing and the connection was made on the Macatawa Bank property. K&R is now working to complete the force main installation along River Hills Drive.

Pump Station:

Progress continues to be made on the pump station site as the wet well walls were partially poured with concrete this week. Forms will begin to be setup for the remaining concrete pour for next week.

Lakewood Bore & Jack:

Lowe continues to push the casing under Lakewood Blvd this week. They are a little over half way across and expect to be completed with the casing installation by early next week. This will be followed by the carrier pipe installation then restoration.

River Hills Drive Force Main:

K&R is expecting to have the open cut installation of the force main along River Hills Dr completed up to Scotts Dr. by next week.

Progress Report:

The Spring 2025 update video can be seen below, showcasing the work completed over this past winter and early spring. This includes HBPW electric corridor and James Street force main installation, CSX railroad bore & jack (42-inch casing installation), and pump station site preparation.

Pump station progress continues as the station’s wet well walls are being constructed this week. The wet well is the holding tank for the wastewater that is received from the gravity system upstream, prior to being pumped downstream to the treatment plant.

Force Main Progress:

The bore & jack has now been completed under the CSX railroad. The HDPE force main is now installed within the 42″ diameter steel casing. K&R this week is working on the force main installation along River Hills Drive.

Upcoming Work:

Pump station wet well construction will continue, along with the Lakewood Blvd bore & jack and open cut force main installation along River Hills Drive.

Pump Station Progress: K&R continues to move forward with the pump station work. The rail system has been installed extending nearly 30′ deep for the installation of the wetwell. This pump station is replacing the existing wastewater pump station across the street once complete and will have a higher capacity to take in additional growth in the area.

Force Main Progress: Pipe installation along James Street is nearing completion as K&R works to restore this portion of the project. The bore & jack operations have begin near the Wesco gas station north of River Hills Drive. This is a key element for the project, as the utility crossing under the CSX railroad. K&R and their boring subcontractor Lowe plan to have the casing under the tracks completed by the end of this week (April 5th).

Upcoming Work:

Pump Station Progress: Wetwell walls plan to be formed in preparation for concrete pour in the coming weeks.

Force Main Progress: Lowe will move to the next bore & jack under Lakewood Blvd in the coming weeks. Once the casing pipes are installed, the HDPE force main carrier pipe can but pushed inside the casing. K&R will be installing force main pipe along River Hills drive, starting at the railroad tracks and install south.

Progress Report:

New Pump Station site work continues as K&R finalizes the trench box rail system installation in preparation for concrete work in the coming weeks. These rail systems are used to minimize site impact due to trench excavation and ensure safe work conditions.

Upcoming Work:

Next Steps: Pump Station No. 31 concrete work for the wet well and the CSX/Lakewood Blvd bore & jack operations to begin later March and extend into May.
