Village of Kent City - Wynwood Lift Station & Wastewater Treatment Plant

Important Information

This project, scheduled to be complete by June 2027, will replace Wynwood Lift Station, construct a screening building at the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), and replace the control structures, piping, and valves at the WWTP.

Access/Traffic:
Construction will not impact access to any homes or businesses, so no detour routes are proposed. Residents may notice temporary restricted access to some areas of Ball Creek Memorial Park during replacement of Wynwood Lift Station.

Mail: Construction will not impact access to mail.

Garbage Pickup: Construction will not impact garbage pickup.

Water Service: Construction will not impact water or sewer services.

Here is a brief update on construction progress at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Work Completed:

  • Control Structure D overflow pipes installed
  • Control Structure C installed, along with gate valves and piping to Pond 3
  • Bypass Control Structure installed, along with gate valves and piping to Ponds 3 and 4
  • Control Structure B installed, along with most of the piping from the Bypass Control Structure
  • Ponds 3 and 4 clay liner repaired

Upcoming Work:

  • Complete installation of piping between Bypass Control Structure and Control Structure B
  • Install piping from Pond 4 to Control Structure B
  • Install piping from Pond 1 to Control Structure B
  • Begin transfer of water from Pond 2 to Ponds 3 and 4

Work Completed:

  • Ponds 3 and 4 mostly pumped to Pond 2 to prepare for construction
  • Control Structure D installed, along with transfer pipes and gate valves
  • Pond clay liner partially repaired
  • Old overflow pipe from Control Structure D abandoned

Upcoming Work:

  • Install overflow pipes between Ponds 3 and 4
  • Continue backfilling Control Structure D and repair clay liner
  • Install Control Structure C and piping into Pond 3
