Home Depot & Hampton Inn

Continuous access to the Hampton Inn and Suite hotel and Home Depot will be maintained throughout the project.

Napier Ave Businesses

Access to businesses in the Napier Ave area will not be affected. A portion of the parking lot west of the Super 8 Hotel will be removed and replaced to install sanitary sewer.

Gaines Ave

The intersection of Gaines Ave and Glencoe Drive is anticipated to be closed the last two weeks of July 2024 for sanitary sewer installation. Traffic will be rerouted via a detour.

Aldi

A portion of the Aldi parking lot will be removed to install a new force main, however, access to Aldi will be maintained via the north Pipestone Road entrance and the Orchards Mall entrance. The work in the Aldi parking lot is anticipated to occur the last two weeks of October 2023. The parking lot will be restored upon completion of the force main work.

Gravity Sewer Construction Near the Hampton Inn

Gravity sewer installation between the new lift station site and Hampton Inn has been completed. The driveway to Hampton Inn has been restored.

Gravity sewer installation across Ox Creek is planned for this week.

Pipestone Road

After a short delay, Pipestone Road has been restored and will be open to traffic by the end of the day!

Directional Drill Near the Hampton Inn

Force main installation by horizontal directional drill underneath the unnamed road near the Hampton Inn is complete. With this completed, approximately 95% of all the force main on the project has been installed.

Gravity Sewer Construction Near the Hampton Inn

Gravity sewer installation between the new lift station site and Hampton Inn is near completion. Once this run of sewer has been completed, construction of 21” gravity sewer in the area between the Hampton Inn and I94 will continue.

Pipestone Road and Force Main Installation

The installation of the forcemain in Pipestone Road has been completed! Pipestone Road is planned to be paved on Tuesday and is planned to be opened to traffic by the weekend.

Gravity Sewer Construction Near the Hampton Inn

Approximately 150’ of 21” gravity sewer has been installed near the Hampton Inn. Installation of gravity sewer between the new lift station site and the Hampton Inn will continue through the end of the week.

Progress Update:

Pipestone Road and Force Main Installation

With Pipestone Road now closed, the first segment of force main installation by horizontal directional drilling is complete. This first segment extends from Pipestone Road to the unnamed private road east of Ox Creek. Next up: open trench construction of approximately 200 feet of force main in Pipestone Road and a connection to the existing Pipestone Road sewer with a new discharge manhole. We expect the work in Pipestone will continue for approximately two more weeks.

New Lift Station Construction

The new lift station, located near the Hampton Inn, is now under construction. The wet well base, which is approximately 34 feet deep, has been set.  The rest of the structure is expected to be complete by the end of the week. After the wet well is complete, sewer construction will begin progressing from the wet well to the east across the Hamton Inn frontage. This will be done in stages to maintain access to the Hampton Inn.

Progress Update:

Construction on the Conrail Lift Station and Interceptor project has started! Dewatering and clearing of the site near the lift station has begun in preparation for the wet well installation.

Up Next:

Installation of the forcemain from Pipestone Road to the unnamed private road east of Ox Creek is scheduled for late next week. This pipe will be installed by horizontal directional drilling, thereby avoiding clearing and disturbance of the wooded wetlands and creek. Installation of the lift station wet well is also scheduled to begin next week.

Pipestone Road Traffic Closure:

The first of two Pipestone Road traffic closures is scheduled to begin October 17. Pipestone Road will be closed to through traffic from Napier Ave to Mall Drive, with a detour following Napier Ave, Plaza Drive, and Mall Drive, as illustrated on the map above. Pipestone Road will be fully closed at the work area located near the Aldi grocery store. Residences and businesses north of the work area, including Aldi, will remain accessible from the north. Businesses south of Aldi will remain accessible from the south. This traffic closure is scheduled from October 17 through November 3.
