City of Buchanan - Downtown Reconstruction

Work Completed this past week (Aug. 11-16)

• C1, completed sanitary sewer/lateral install on Main Street, North of Dewey.
• C1, road building paused for this week.
• C1, continued storm sewer install on Dewey between Short Street and Main Street.
• C3, dewatering well points installed on Front street from McCoy Creek to Main Street, discharging to McCoy Creek through pre-approved storm outlet.
• C3, continued storm sewer install at Front/Red Bud to Johnson Street.

Work planned for this week (Aug. 18-23)

• C1, continue road building on Red Bud between 3^rd and McCoy Creek.
• C1, begin prepping Red Bud for concrete road over culvert.
• C1, begin retaining wall removal at McCoy Creek.
• C1, continue storm sewer install at Dewey/Main Street.
• C1, concrete curb pavement on 3rd Street is planned for Thursday (8/21)
• C3, continue storm sewer install at Front/Red Bud heading west.

Short Street is now open for traffic to Short Street parking lot.  Arrow signs have been moved. The intersection of Main Street/ Dewey Street will be closing soon.

Access to Short Street parking lot (Honor Credit Union) will be moving back to Short Street starting end of the day tomorrow (8/12) or early Wednesday morning (8/13). Arrow boards will be adjusted to reflect these changes once Main Street become unusable.

Contract 1 – K&R

• Dale’s crew – installing storm sewer on Dewey between Short/Red Bud,  installing water main connection to hydrant at Short at parking lot.
• Juan’s crew – installing sewer laterals on Main Street between Dewey/Front.
• Marc’s crew – continue placing gravel on Red Bud between 3rd Street and McCoy Creek.

Contact 3 – Kalin

• Stuart’s crew – continue storm sewer install at Front/Red Bud.

Traffic 

• Access to Short Street parking lot will be Main Street.
• Access to Phillips 66 gas station is open from Red Bud and Days Ave.
• Access to city hall/Lehman’s/Daycare is Skyline to 3rd or Red Bud to 3rd street.

Access to Honor Credit Union parking lot will be switching to Main Street instead of Short Street starting today.

Work Completed this past week (July 28 to Aug. 1)

• C1, continued sanitary sewer install on Main Street, South of Dewey.
• C1, completed 2” water service to park irrigation on Dewey.
• C1, completed water main connection to existing 8 inch and storm sewer at East end of Dewey.
• C1, continued building road on 3^rd Street in front of City Hall.
• C1, completed removals at Cul de sac at East end of Dewey.
• C3, continued sanitary sewer install at Front/Red Bud. Only remaining sanitary sewer East of the Creek on Front St. is the 10” for Rynearson.

Work planned for this week (Aug. 4-8)

• C1, continue sanitary sewer install on Main Street South of Dewey.
• C1, begin road building on Red Bud at the south end by the Creek and heading North.
• C1, possibility of pouring concrete curb at the East end of 3^rd Street by end of the week, however no date has been set.
• C3, finish sanitary sewer install at Front/Red Bud.
• C3, begin storm sewer install at Front/Red Bud. Plan is to set the storm treatment unit on Tuesday.

Work Completed this past week (July 21 – 25)

• C1, continued sanitary sewer install on Dewey up to Main Street.
• C1, completed storm sewer install on Red Bud and Dewey-East of Red Bud.
• C1, installed well points on Main St. South of Dewey.
• C3, began sanitary sewer install at Front/Red Bud.
• C3, repaired sanitary lateral to Sweet Shop all the way to the mainline.

Work planned for this week (July 28 – Aug. 1)

• C1, continue sanitary sewer install on Main Street South of Dewey.
• C1, continue road building  on 3^rd Street up to Red Bud.
• C1, install 8×8 tapping valve at Ear end of Dewey.
• C3, begin storm sewer install at Front/Red Bud.
• C3, install Kelley well at Front/Red Bud for storm sewer separator install.
• C3, access to Phillip 66 gas station is now from Days, to Front, to gas station as well as off Red Bud South of front. Only gas station customers will be using this access  route.

Starting tomorrow, Thursday (7/24) access to City Hall, Lehman’s, and the daycare will use Red Bud to Dewey and park in the parking lot on the East side of Lehman’s.

Access for the City hall, Lehman’s, and the daycare will be Dewey Street starting tomorrow morning at 7am. Red Bud Fitness will have access off Skyline Drive.  They will be building road on 3rd from Creek to Red Bud.

Construction crews are progressing with pipe install at various locations downtown. Access to Honor credit union parking lot will be possible from short Street via 3rd or 4th Street.

City Hall, Lehmans, and Red Bud Fitness will continue to use 3rd Street for access. Anticipated access shift to Dewey Street late Wed/Early Thursday.
