City of Hart - Wastewater System Improvements Contract 1: Griswold St Gravity Sewer and Polk Rd Water Main

Important Information

This project will replace the existing sanitary sewer on Griswold Street to increase capacity. The water main on Polk Road will be replaced to increase system reliability. The roadway will be reconstructed following utility installation.

This project will be constructed in phases to provide access for local industry.

September 18, 2023

The focus this week continued to be on placing sanitary sewer main for Phase I on Griswold Street. Additionally, the road has been built back up to aggregate base to allow Lineage to access their shipping docks from the North. The focus next week will continue to be on sanitary sewer outlined in Phase 1 and begin phase 2.

 

Work Completed Last Week

  • The Contractor continued placing sanitary sewer main on Griswold Street for Phase 1.
  • The Contractor placed aggregate base in preparation for asphalt halfway into the Lineage shipping entrance.
  • The Contractor placed concrete curb infills for Phase 1.

 

Anticipated Work This Week

  • The Contractor will complete preparations for road rebuilding in Phase I.
  • The Contractor will begin preparation for Phase 2.

September 11, 2023

The focus this week continued to be on placing sanitary sewer main for Phase I on Griswold Street. The focus next week will be on finishing the sanitary sewer outlined in Phase 1, as well as curb infill and road rebuild.

 

Work Completed Last Week

  • The Contractor continued placing sanitary sewer main on Griswold Street for Phase 1.
  • The Contractor placed aggregate base in preparation for asphalt up to the Ocean County Services building.

 

Anticipated Work This Week

  • The Contractor will finish placing sanitary sewer mainline and sanitary sewer manholes outlined for Phase I.
  • The Contractor will begin concrete curb infill and road rebuild on Griswold Street for Phase 1.
September 1, 2023

Sanitary sewer installation continued and the crews are past the difficult crossings for a while. Work continues to progress south towards Polk Road. Road rebuilding is expected to start in the next week or two.

 

Work Completed Last Week

  • The Contractor continued placing sanitary sewer main on Griswold Street for Phase I.
  • Additional roadway was removed to continue working south

 

Anticipated Work This Week

  • The Contractor will continue placing sanitary sewer mainline and sanitary sewer manholes for Phase I.
  • Phase I roadway rebuilding may start near the end of the week.
Sanitary Sewer Installation
August 25, 2023

The focus this week was on placing sanitary sewer main for Phase I on Griswold Street. The water main tie-in addition on Griswold was also completed. Next week’s focus will be on continuing to place sanitary sewer main line and road rebuild. 

 

Work Completed Last Week

  • The Contractor continued placing sanitary sewer main on Griswold Street for Phase 1.
  • The Contractor placed the 8” water main and tie-in addition on Griswold Street.

 

Anticipated Work This Week

  • The Contractor will continue placing sanitary sewer mainline and sanitary sewer manholes for Phase I.
  • The Contractor will continue to mill the asphalt road on Griswold Street.
  • The Contractor will begin road rebuild at the north project limits of Griswold Street.
August 21, 2023

The focus this week was on placing sanitary sewer main for Phase I on Griswold Street. The focus next week will be on continuing to place sanitary sewer main line.

  • The Contractor continued placing sanitary sewer main on Griswold Street for Phase 1.

  • The Contractor will continue placing sanitary sewer mainline and sanitary sewer manholes for Phase I.

  • The Contractor will continue placing sanitary sewer mainline and sanitary sewer manholes for Phase I.
August 8, 2023

The focus this past week was on mobilization and milling for Phase I on Griswold Street. The focus this week will be on placing sanitary sewer mainline.

 

Work Completed Last Week

  • The Contractor mobilized and stored materials on the north end of the project limits near the Griswold Street lift station.
  • The Contractor began milling asphalt for Phase I.

 

Anticipated Work This Week

  • The Contractor will begin placing sanitary sewer mainline and sanitary sewer manholes for Phase I.
July 31, 2023

Phase 1 Construction will begin today. Work will begin at the north project limit near the Griswold Street Lift Station.
