Project Information

Contract No. 1: Construct force main from West Randall lift station in City of Coopersville to Ottawa County line.

Access/Traffic: Local traffic will be maintained during pipeline construction. There may be times when your driveway is inaccessible because pipeline construction is occurring in front of your house or driveway restoration is taking place. The contractor will work with you ahead of time and will make special access arrangements with you if needed.

Mail: Mailboxes that interfere with pipeline construction will be temporarily relocated so that mail service can be maintained during construction. If your mailbox needs to be temporarily relocated, the contractor will inform you of where it has been moved to and when they anticipate it will be returned to its original location.

Garbage Pickup: The contractor will work with you and your waste hauler to maintain service throughout construction. If pipeline construction interferes with your waste haulers ability to pick up your garbage, the contractor will temporarily move your garbage bins to a central location and return them to the end of your driveway by the end of the work day.

Work completed/in progress: continue restoration and punchlist

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Wilson Street. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Paved HMA base course at Taft and Wilson Street intersections
  • Paved HMA top course on 80th Ave from Cleveland St to Wilson St including intersections.

Anticipated work activities within the next couple of weeks:

  • Perform restoration and seeding.
  • Miscellaneous punch list items.
  • Pavement markings.
October 17, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Wilson Street. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

 

Work completed/in progress:

  • Continued working on miscellaneous punchlist items.
  • Ditch restoration and culvert cleaning.
  • Paved HMA base course and leveling course on cut outs at Taft and Wilson St intersections
  • Paved HMA base course for asphalt driveways.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue punch list items.
  • Completion of ditch grading.
  • Paving of HMA top course is currently scheduled for the week of the 27th.
October 10, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Wilson Street. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Paved HMA base course and leveling course on 80th Avenue between Cleveland and Wilson Street.
  • Cold milled 1.5″ off the opposite side of 80th Avenue between Cleveland and Wilson Street in preparation for top course of HMA.
  • Graded ditches along 80th Avenue.

Anticipated work activities within the next couple of weeks:

  • Pave HMA base course and leveling course on cut outs at Taft and Wilson Street intersections
  • Perform restoration and seeding.
  • Prepare to pave top course of HMA along 80th Avenue.
  • Complete miscellaneous punch list items.
October 1, 2025

Work completed/in progress:

  • FORCE MAIN INSTALLATION COMPLETE AND TESTED!
  • Road building underway.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Begin paving 80th Avenue between Cleveland and Wilson Street.
  • Continue restoration.
September 5, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Wilson Street. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Continued installing force main along 80th Ave.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue installing the last 2,000 feet of force main toward Wilson St.

Resume road building from Applegate to the north.

August 26, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Wilson Street. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

 

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed force main to 1,000′ north of Taft St.
  • Completed preliminary road building up to Applegate.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue laying pipe north of Taft St and road building.
August 19, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Wilson Street. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed 1,450 of force main last week. Force main installation is approaching Taft St.
  • Most culvert installation is complete between Cleveland St. and Taft St.
  • 80th Avenue preliminary road building continues behind the force main construction.
  • Partial milling of southbound lane of 80th Ave between Taft St and Wilson St.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation north of Taft St. and road building.

August 8, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Heights Ravenna Road. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Force main construction has progressed north of Applegate Dairy and is nearing Taft Street.
  • Pig launch/bypass has been installed at Applegate Dairy.
  • The Applegate Dairy branch has been installed and will be tied in later.
  • 80th Avenue preliminary road building continues behind the force main construction.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation and road building.
July 14, 2025

**80th Avenue is closed from Cleveland Street north to Heights Ravenna Road. Detour is via 56th Avenue/Ravenna Road. Closure will be in place for several months.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Laid approximately 1,400 feet of force main along 80th Avenue.
  • Installing gravel base behind pipe laying operation.
  • Replacing culverts as force main construction progresses.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue laying pipe northward.
