Grand Haven Charter Township - Ferris Street Force Main Replacement

Important Information

Grand Haven Charter Township is replacing failing sanitary force main on Ferris Street between Hidden Creek Drive to approximately 1,600 feet to the east. The proposed force main will be installed in the right-of-way of south Ferris Street. Force Main installation is anticipated to be completed by the end of July, 2024.

Access/Traffic

Ferris Street will be closed to through traffic between 168th Avenue and 160th Avenue. A detour route will be set up utilizing 152nd Avenue, Lincoln Street, and US-31. Access will remain to homes and businesses on Ferris Street between 168th Avenue and 160th Avenue. Ferris Street will be closed from June 10 to August 9, 2024 to accommodate force main construction and adjacent sanitary sewer construction activity on Ferris Street west of Hidden Creek Drive as part of a different project.

Progress Report: Wadel Stabilization has set up the Ferris Street closure and detour between 168th Avenue and 152nd Avenue. Preparation for pipe installation on Ferris Street has started with the mobilization of construction equipment and materials, and the removal of topsoil.

Upcoming Work: Groundwater dewatering to prepare for force main construction will be installed early next week and pipe installation will begin starting near the west limit of the project at Hidden Creek Dr progressing to the east.
