City of Roosevelt Park - Maple Grove and Broadway Resurfacing

Crosswalks were installed and structure covers were completed. Only a little bit of work remaining. Thank you for patience with this project!

Work Completed since last update.

• Manhole covers were completed in the west bound lane.
• The second half of the crosswalks were completed. 

Anticipated Work for the Coming Week

• Striping will be installed early week weather dependent.
• Traffic control will be removed following striping.
• Remaining clean-up and restoration will be completed.

The end is in sight. Paving operations are complete and only the crosswalks and striping remain!

Work Completed since last update.

• The west bound lane surface was removed and repaved.

Anticipated Work for the Coming Week

• Saw cutting and removal of the roadway for the west bound crosswalks are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
• Concrete crosswalk installation will be completed mid-week.
• West bound lane will remain closed until the concrete is cured.

Work has now shifted to the west bound lane of Broadway Avenue with removals and concrete curb and sidewalk work.

• The east bound crosswalks were installed.
• East bound lane was opened to traffic and west bound lane was closed.
• Curb replacement was completed on the west bound lane
• Sidewalk ramps were replaced on the west bound lane

Anticipated Work for the Coming Week

• Milling of the west bound lane is tentatively scheduled for Monday or Tuesday of next week (August 11 or 12) with paving following a day or two after milling weather dependent.
• Crosswalk installation may occur near the end of next week or the following week.

Work continued on the east bound lane of Broadway Avenue with paving and preparation for crosswalk installation.

Work Completed since last update

• Parking lanes on both sides of Broadway were paved.
• The east bound lane and half of the center turn lane were milled and paved.

Anticipated Work for the Coming Week

• Monday and Tuesday the east bound lane and the side streets will be cut at the cross-walk locations and the surface removed.
• Wednesday, concrete for the crosswalk is scheduled to be placed. Following placement of the concrete they will be left to cure until August 4 when the traffic will be shifted and work will begin on the west bound lane.

This was a good week on Broadway with completion of the concrete sidewalk and curb work on the south side of the road and preparation for paving of the parking lanes.

• Concrete sidewalk ramps were placed along the south side of Broadway.
• Milling of the parking lanes on both sides of Broadway were completed.

Anticipated Work for the Coming Week

• The parking lanes on both sides of the roadway will be paved early in the week depending on weather.
• Mid-week the south travel lane (eastbound) will be milled and paved.
• Removals for the south side crosswalk installation may begin at the end of the week but more likely the following week.

Much progress was made this week with completion of paving on Maple Grove and removals started on Broadway. From now on the focus of the project will be on Broadway Avenue.

• Paving on Maple Grove was completed.
• Concrete removals on the south side of Broadway were completed.
• Curb and Gutter repairs and replacement were completed on the southside of Broadway.

Anticipated Work for the Coming Week

• Concrete sidewalk will be placed on the south side of Broadway near midweek.
• Following sidewalk replacement, traffic will be shifted and removals will begin on the north side of Broadway.

Even with this being a shorter week, much progress was made. Concrete on Maple Grove is completed, milling on Maple Grove was completed and paving started.

• Maple Grove concrete was completed.
• Milling of the Maple Grove was completed.
• New pavement was applied from Norton to Summit.

Anticipated Work for the Coming Week

• Paving of Maple Grove from Summit to Broadway will be completed on Monday.
• Road closure on Broadway will begin with west bound traffic being maintained and east bound traffic following the posted detour. West bound traffic will shift as needed to either the north side or south side of the roadway.
• Broadway Avenue concrete removals will begin.

Milling work will be completed this Monday June 30. Currently Michigan Paving and Materials is scheduled to pave Maple Grove from Norton to Summit on Thursday July 3. The remainder will be paved the week of July 7.

Work on Maple Grove has begun. This week, removals of concrete sidewalk ramps and curb started as well as placement of concrete curb and gutter on Maple Grove.

• Removals of concrete curb and sidewalk ramps began and are nearly complete.
• Concrete curb was installed near the south end of the Maple Grove portion.

• Removals will continue.
• Concrete curb and sidewalk ramp installation will continue.

Work on Maple Grove will be starting on Tuesday June 17. Focus will be on removing sidewalk ramps and damaged curb, and preparing for concrete. Depending on weather, concrete installation for new sidewalk ramps and curb will begin Saturday, June 21.
