  8. Complete testing of new water main to ensure it can be connected to the existing water distribution system. This will involve a shut down of the water main in Jefferson on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. All customers on Jefferson between Summit and Broadway will lose water for approximately 4-6 hours while this connection will be made.
  9. When water flow is disrupted from connections or valve exercising, customers may experience air in their water lines and discolored water. Be sure to flush all lines, but especially the cold water through a bathtub or faucet without a screen and run until the water is clear.

  5. City Crews will continue to work on existing water main valves – this may disrupt the water flow periodically in the drinking water system. Customers may experience air in their water lines and discolored water. Be sure to flush all lines, but especially the cold water through a bath tub or faucet without a screen and run until the water is clear.

Please remember that the streets are closed to thru traffic, but they will remain open to local residents.  For the safety of workers, please avoid driving through the construction sites.  No on-street parking is allowed within the construction zone.

As the snow is melting, we are looking towards a new construction project that will begin on Monday, March 10, 2025.

Sanford Street will be reconstructed between Oakwood and Broadway Avenues along with Columbia Avenue between 5th Street and Peck Street.

Starting Monday, the contractor will begin removing trees and pavement. All trees in the project area will be removed.

Pavement will begin to be removed on Columbia working from 5th Street to Peck.  Also, pavement on Sanford will be removed from Oakwood to Summit to start. The contractor will keep a lane open during construction as much as possible.
