Plainfield Charter Township - Northgate Phase 1 and 2 Water Main Replacement

This Week:

• Concrete work along Miramar between Eldon and Northgate was completed.
• Topsoil restoration continued along Miramar.

Next Week:

• Concrete work will continue along Miramar between Northgate and Plainfield.
• The concrete bike path at Miramar and Airway will also be replaced next week.
• Lawn restoration work along Miramar Avenue will continue.
• Paving of the asphalt patches is tentatively scheduled for next Saturday (9/28).

This Week:

• Milbocker completed the water main crossing of Miramar Avenue at Plainfield Avenue.
• Milbocker completed the water main connection at the south end of Northgate Street.
• Milbocker completed the few remaining water service replacements along Miramar.
• Restoration work north of Eldon Street continued.
• Some sidewalk that was poured prior to the thunderstorm last week was removed because the rain damaged the finished surface of the concrete.
• The existing water main in Miramar Avenue north of Eldon Street was abandoned.

Next Week:

• The final water main connection at Plainfield Avenue will be completed on Monday. This will impact a few businesses south of Miramar Avenue. The impacted businesses have been notified of the shutdown by the Plainfield Water Department.
• Concrete work will continue along Miramar Avenue.
• Restoration work along Miramar Avenue will continue.

This Week:

• Milbocker completed the water main connection at Airway Street.
• Airway Street was repaved the same day of the water main connection.
• Concrete sidewalk, curb, and driveway replacements continued along Miramar Avenue north of Eldon Street.
• Milbocker worked on replacing water service lines along Miramar Avenue south of Eldon Street.
• Storm sewer at the northern Daylor intersection was completed.

Next Week:

• Milbocker will work on the water main connection at Plainfield Avenue. This is anticipated to take a few days to complete so Miramar Avenue will be close at Plainfield Avenue. Plainfield Avenue will have a single lane closure from Jupiter Avenue to Miramar Avenue.
• Any water services that were not completed this week will be finished up next week.
• Concrete work will continue on the north end of Miramar Avenue.
• There is concrete pavement under the asphalt at Plainfield Avenue and it will have to be replaced prior to paving. It is anticipated that the Miramar Avenue and Plainfield Avenue intersection will be closed for the next two weeks to facilitate this work.

This Week:

• Milbocker completed water main installation along Miramar between Eldon and Plainfield.
• The two water main connections at Audley were completed on Thursday.
• Two water services along Airway, west of Miramar, were replaced.
• Milbocker continued to prepare for sidewalk and driveway replacement north of Eldon. The concrete contractor was scheduled for earlier this week but is experiencing some delays.
• Milbocker began the process of filling the new water main and testing it this week.
• Storm sewer at the northern Daylor intersection was completed today.

Next Week:

• Milbocker will complete the Airway connection on Monday. Airway will be closed to thru traffic at Miramar and a detour route will be posted. The road will not be closed until 9:00 AM to allow the morning bus traffic to pass through. The goal is to have the road backfilled and repaved by the end of the day Monday.
• Water services will be installed south of Eldon pending passing test results later next week.
• Concrete work should be in full swing north of Eldon next week.

This Week:

• Milbocker completed water service replacements along Miramar between Eldon and Airway.
• Milbocker’s second crew began installing water main along Miramar from the Eldon intersection working south to Northgate.
• Milbocker is scheduled to complete water main connections to the existing water mains at the north and south Daylor intersections today, weather dependent. If these connections don’t take place today they will be rescheduled for next week.
• Milbocker completed lawn restoration work along Eldon. New lawn care guides were distributed to residents this week. Please make sure to follow these guidelines to ensure that your new grass comes in nicely.
• Milbocker began grading out for sidewalk replacement along Miramar.

Next Week:

• Concrete crews will be on site Monday to begin replacing sidewalk and curb and gutter along Miramar between Eldon and Airway.
• Milbocker will continue installing water main along Miramar and should get to Plainfield Ave by the end of the week.
• Milbocker will complete the water main connections at the two Audley intersections. Residents affected by this temporary water shutdown will be notified by the Plainfield Water Department prior to the planned shutdown.
• After all of the water main connections at side streets have completed, Milbocker will complete the connection to the existing water main on the north side of Airway. Airway will be closed to thru traffic and a detour route will be posted.

Progress Report:

This week Milbocker completed water main installation along Miramar up to Airway. The majority of the concrete restoration was completed along Eldon. Milbocker also started on water service replacements on Miramar between Eldon and Daylor.

Upcoming Work:

Next week Milbocker will continue to replace water services along Mirmar, north of Eldon. Lawn restoration work along Eldon will continue next week. Milbocker will work with the Plainfield Water Department to test the new water main between Daylor and Airway. Some storm sewer work at the intersection of Miramar and north Daylor may take place towards the end of next week. This intersection will be closed for a day to facilitate the storm sewer work. Depending on how the water service replacement work goes, Milbocker may start installing water main along Miramar, starting at Eldon and working south to Plainfield.

Progress Report:

This week Milblocker continued installing water main along Miramar between Eldon and Airway. The first section of new water main between Eldon and Daylor was filled with water and pressure tested on Friday. A second crew was on site this week to begin restoration work along Eldon. Portions of the concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk were installed along Eldon on Thursday. Milbocker plans to continue water main installation along Miramar on Saturday.

Upcoming Work:

Next week Milbocker will complete water main installation along Miramar up to Airway. After this is complete they will start installing water main along Miramar at Eldon and work south to Plainfield Avenue. The sections of new water main along Miramar north of Eldon will be pressure tested and disinfected in preparation for water service installation. Milbocker will continue with concrete and lawn restoration work along Eldon.

Progress Report:

This week Milbocker installed all new water services in the public road right-of-way along Eldon Street. The two water main tie-ins (connection of new water main to existing water main) were completed at the intersection of Eldon Street and Northgate Street. Milbocker also completed some storm sewer work at the intersection of Eldon Street and Northgate Street. Milbocker is going to start working Saturdays this week and plans to continue this throughout the rest of the project. Now that the water main construction along Eldon Street is complete Milbocker is going to start installing new water main along Miramar Avenue, working from Eldon Street north to Airway Street.

Upcoming Work:

Milbocker will have a second crew on site next week to begin sidewalk and driveway restoration along Eldon Street. Milbocker will continue installing new water main north along Miramar Avenue.

Progress Report:

This week Milbocker completed the water main installation along Eldon. The new water main was filled with water and passed a pressure test which confirmed there are no leaks in the pipeline. Milbocker worked with the Plainfield Water Department to disinfect the new main and disinfection sampling will continue through Friday. Milbocker has removed sidewalk and topsoil along Mirarmar, between Eldon and Airway, in preparation for water main installation to continue. Milbocker will also begin digging some pits at water service locations along Eldon in preparation for water service replacement next week.

Upcoming Work:

Pending passing disinfection test results, Milbocker will begin replacing copper water service lines within the public right-of-way along Eldon on Monday. It is anticipated that this work will take 3-4 days to complete. Once completed, Milbocker will continue installing new water main along Miramar, starting at Eldon and working north to Airway.
