CL Trucking & Excavating has pushed their start date back one week. Water main construction will begin along Algoma Avenue at 10 Mile Road on Monday, August 22, 2022.

Please contact any project representative if you have questions or concerns.

Current Status/Progress Report

Water main construction is scheduled to begin August 15th. Water main will be constructed along Algoma Avenue, starting at 10 Mile Road, and progress north. Only water main in Algoma Avenue and 11 Mile Road will be constructed this year. Construction along Algoma Avenue and 11 Mile Road will continue through early November.Water main construction will begin again as soon as weight restrictions come off in the Spring of 2023. All water main down private drives off Algoma Avenue or 11 Mile Road will be constructed in 2023. Construction is anticipated to last from late March through the end of July 2023.

Current Status/Progress Report

Water main construction is currently scheduled to begin in August pending water main material delivery. You should have received a letter in the mail from Plainfield Township about the upcoming construction project. A second letter will be mailed closer to the start of construction which will explain the steps you must take to connect your house to the municipal water system. This letter will include the list of prequalified general contractors you may choose from to do the work. If you have already been contacted by one of these contractors, you may begin to coordinate your service connection with them now but know that there will be time in August to coordinate this work.

Water main and water services in Algoma Avenue and 11 Mile Road are scheduled to be installed in the 2022 construction season. Currently, water main and water services on all private drives (Algoma Woods Drive, Point High Drive, Hidden Timbers Trail, Clearwater Court, Winding Ridge Trail, Oakwoods Trail, and Garden Gate Drive/Court) are scheduled to be installed in 2023. Homeowners on the private drives do not have to coordinate with a general contractor to install their water service until spring of 2023.

Current Status/Progress Report

This project is currently advertised for bids with the bid opening scheduled for April 14. This project is designed to extend the municipal water system and connect homes that have been affected by PFAS contamination.

Prior to the water main being installed, trees within the public road rights-of-way and easements will be cleared as necessary. It is anticipated that the contractor will start water main construction in June, pending water main material delivery. This contract will construct the water main along the road and short water service stubs toward each house. You will receive more information regarding how to connect your water service from the stub into your house at a later date.

Water main will generally be installed along the west or north sides of Algoma Avenue, 11 Mile Road, and each side street. There will be short periods of time when water main is being installed in front of your houses and your driveway will be inaccessible. The contractor will work to restore driveways as soon as possible during the day and will ensure that all driveways are accessible by the end of the workday. Caution is advised while driving through the project area. For the safety of all residents and construction crews, we ask that residents stay out of the construction area at all times and be aware of construction equipment moving throughout the project area.
