Plainfield Township - Water Supply System Extension: Algoma Ave & 11 Mile Rd

Important Information

This project is designed to extend the municipal water system and connect homes that have been affected by PFAS contamination.

There will be times that the area in front of your homes is torn up and you will have limited access to your home. Please let us know if you have any special access needs and we will do our best to make arrangements with you.

The contractor will be contacting you to make arrangements for mail delivery and garbage collection. Please let us know if you have any problems with this.

CL Trucking will continue to address open items.   • A lot of the asphalt paving work was completed throughout the project area.
  • Private water service contractors continued installing water services into houses.

 

Next Week:

  • CL Trucking will finish lawn restoration along road and driveway edges. Irrigation systems which were damaged by construction will be replaced after the lawn restoration is complete to ensure that the sprinkler heads are set at the correct height.
  • Asphalt driveways and road patch work will be completed next week.
  • CL Trucking will work on punch list items and final project clean up.

  • As of this week, all the water main and water service work has been completed by CL Trucking. You may contact your selected contractor to begin scheduling the water service connection into your house.
  • CL Trucking worked on lawn restoration this week. It is critical that you water your newly planted lawn areas to promote good grass growth.
  • Private water service contractors began installing water services into houses.

 

Next Week:

  • CL Trucking will continue lawn restoration efforts. Irrigation systems which were damaged by construction will be replaced after the lawn restoration is complete to ensure that the sprinkler heads are set at the correct height.
  • CL Trucking is planning on completing all concrete restoration work by replacing concrete curbs and driveways.
  • CL Trucking will begin preparing asphalt road and driveways for paving which is scheduled to be completed the week of May 22.

You may now contact your contractor to schedule your water service connection to your house. If you do not already have an approved Quotation Form, you should contact an approved General Contractor ASAP to ensure you can meet the sixty (60) day connection requirement.
  • CL Trucking started water main construction on Point High Drive.

 

This Week:

  • CL Trucking will complete water main construction on Point High Drive.
  • CL Trucking will install the water main on Algoma Woods Drive.
  • CL Trucking may start water service installation on Hidden Timbers Trail.

  • As new water mains are completed, water is flushed out of the hydrants and the pipe is pressure tested and disinfected.

  • CL Trucking started water service installation on Garden Gate Drive.

Residential Driveway Paving:

Many residents have reached out about having their entire driveway repaved in conjunction with the water main project. Rieth-Riley (CL Trucking’s paving subcontractor) has stated that they do not have any more capacity to take on additional private driveway paving at this time. If you would like your driveway resurfaced, Rieth-Riley recommends contacting the following contractors who specialize in residential work.

  • Tree clearing on Hidden Timbers Drive and Point High Drive will be completed.
  • Water main construction completion on Oakwoods Trail.
  • Water main construction on Hidden Timbers Trail.
  • The new water main on Oakwoods Trail and Clearwater Court will be pressure tested to confirm there are no leaks and disinfected in preparation for water service installation. This will involve hydrant flushingif you see water coming out of a hydrant and no one is around there is no need to be alarmed as this is part of the process.

 

If you would like to attempt to coordinate additional paving work on your driveway you may contact Rieth-Riley (CL Trucking’s paving subcontractor) to coordinate any extra work outside of the project scope that your expense.
