Important Information

The Kuttshill Drive Connector path is a short section of the Township’s shared-use pathway system that closes a gap in the Rockford Trail. Later this summer, construction will begin on the rest of the Rockford Trail Shared-Use Path along Kuttshill Drive, Brewer Avenue and Kroes Street, connecting Rogue River Avenue to Rockford High School and Jericho Avenue.

During tree removal, Kuttshill Drive will be limited to one lane with both lanes closed while trees are being felled.

All work is weather dependent.

This Week

Dykema Excavators completed the retaining wall and continued to strip top soil, grade, and place gravel on the path.

They anticipate finalizing the gravel grades, adjusting drainage structures and prepping to pave.

They anticipate completing the wall and continuing to grade south in preparation to build the pathway.

Progress Report

After a few weeks of light work, Dykema Excavating will be back on site on Monday, September 13 to pick up where they left off. They anticipate continuing to grade for the path, removing topsoil and placing sand and gravel base. In addition they plan to start work on the retaining wall.

What to Expect This Week

The contractor will begin removing and grinding stumps this week in preparation for grading and retaining wall work.

Work has begun on the Kuttshill Connector Trail, starting at ‘The Ravines at Inwood’ housing development and working towards Childsdale Avenue NE.

Last week, West Michigan Tree Service began removing trees for the new bike path. Earthwork will be starting this week.
