Important Information

This project is designed to extend the municipal water system and connect homes that have been affected by PFAS contamination.

All water services are available for connection. Homeowners must schedule the work directly with the contractor they selected and have their water service installed within sixty (60) days of when it became available. Please contact Jeremy Kamp (contact info below) if you have any questions.

Progress Report

Private water service installation continued throughout the project area. Quotation Forms have been received for all but two houses in the project area. If you have not already contacted a prequalified general contractor to install your water service, you must do so as soon as possible to ensure that you can meet the 60-day connection requirement.

As of November 19, twenty-eight (28) houses – 39% of the project area – have connected to the municipal water system. See status map above for reference.

Spring of 2022:
  • CL Trucking will be back on site to complete final restoration work as necessary.
  • The pavement on the south end of Meek Drive was just patched for the winter due to time constraints this year. Michigan Paving & Materials (CL’s asphalt subcontractor) will be back to complete final paving on the south end of Meek Drive as well as make necessary repairs to the pavement on Korben Woods Court.

Important Information

Once the water service stub has been installed out to the public road right-of-way in front of your house, you will receive a letter from our staff on site informing you that your water service is ready for connection. You will have sixty (60) days from the date of the letter to connect to the municipal water system. If you have not already contacted a private water service contractor about installing your free water service, you should do so as soon as possible to ensure you can meet the sixty (60) day connection requirement.

There will be times that the area in front of your homes is torn up and you will have limited access to your home. Please let us know if you have any special access needs and we will do our best to make arrangements with you. The contractor will be contacting you to make arrangements for mail delivery and garbage collection. Please let us know if you have any problems with this.

  • CL Trucking was back on site yesterday (Wednesday) and completed the tree clearing on the south end of Meek Drive.
  • CL Trucking will work to install the new water main over the next few days.

  • The newly installed water main will be pressure tested and disinfected.
  • CL Trucking will work on restoration work and prepare for paving to be completed.
Week of November 15:
  • Water services will be installed on the south end of Meek Drive.
  • CL Trucking will work on project clean up and start to remove equipment and excess materials off site.

  • Michigan Paving and Materials (CL’s asphalt subcontractor) was on site and completed the remaining top course paving on driveways.

  • CL Trucking has indicated they will have a pipe crew back on site to complete the water main and water service installation on Meek Drive, south of Korben Woods Drive, starting November 1.

  • Michigan Paving and Materials (CL’s asphalt subcontractor) was on site and completed most of the asphalt restoration including top course on driveways and road patches, as well as all of Pine Hill Drive.

 

Next week:
  • CL Trucking will continue to work on lawn restoration along side new asphalt and will continue to work on cleaning up the project site.
  • Tree clearing is tentatively scheduled to take place along the south end of Meek Drive south of the Hamilton Woods neighborhood.

 

November:

  • Pine Hill Drive is scheduled to be milled on Saturday (10/9) in preparation for paving next week.

Next week:

  • CL Trucking will continue to work on lawn restoration and prep areas for road patches and driveway restoration.
  • Weather dependent, Pine Hill Drive will be paved sometime next week.

November:

  • CL Trucking’s pipe crew will be back on site to complete the water main and water service installation on Meek Drive, south of Korben Woods Drive.
