Project Information

Contract 3: Construct force main from Heights Ravenna Road to Muskegon County Resource Recovery Center.

Access/Traffic: Local traffic will be maintained during pipeline construction. There may be times when your driveway is inaccessible because pipeline construction is occurring in front of your house or driveway restoration is taking place. The contractor will work with you ahead of time and will make special access arrangements with you if needed.

Mail: Mailboxes that interfere with pipeline construction will be temporarily relocated so that mail service can be maintained during construction. If your mailbox needs to be temporarily relocated, the contractor will inform you of where it has been moved to and when they anticipate it will be returned to its original location.

Garbage Pickup: The contractor will work with you and your waste hauler to maintain service throughout construction. If pipeline construction interferes with your waste haulers ability to pick up your garbage, the contractor will temporarily move your garbage bins to a central location and return them to the end of your driveway by the end of the work day.

August 26, 2025

**Ensley Road north of Sherman Blvd is closed.**

**Sherman Boulevard is closed from Ensley Road to Price Road.**

**Price Road is closed from Sherman Boulevard to Moorland Road.**

 

Work completed/in progress:

  • Completed force main installation along Sherman Blvd.
  • Performed turf restoration of Ensley Rd.
  • Performed restoration on Ensley Rd extended from Laketon Ave north to Muskegon/Newaygo Branch Drain.
  • Starting to place aggregate millings on eastbound lane of Sherman Blvd to prepare for crush and shape.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation along Price Rd.
  • Continue restoration along Ensley Rd, Ensley Rd (extended), and MCRRC property.
  • Continue building eastbound lane of Sherman Blvd in preparation for crush and shape.

August 19, 2025

**Ensley Road north of Sherman Blvd is closed.**

**Sherman Boulevard is closed from Ensley Road to Price Road.**

**Price Road is closed from Sherman Boulevard to Moorland Road.**

 

Work completed/in progress:

  • Continued installing force main along Sherman Blvd.
  • Cross Culvert installation in Ensley Rd is complete.
  • Continued restoration of Ensley Rd.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation in Sherman Blvd and progress to Price Rd.
  • Begin installing force main along Price Rd from Sherman Blvd to the south.
  • Complete road restoration on Ensley Rd.
  • Perform turf restoration on Ensley Rd.
  • Complete turf restoration along Apple Ave.

August 8, 2025

**Ensley Road north of Sherman Blvd is closed.**

**Sherman Boulevard is closed from Ensley Road to Price Road.**

**Price Road closure will begin soon. Road will be closed from Sherman Boulevard to Moorland Road.**

 

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 1,100 feet of force main in Ensley Road.
  • Force main installation in Ensley Road is complete.
  • Approximately 2/3 of the force main installation along Sherman Boulevard is complete.
  • Continued restoration of Ensley Road.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation in Sherman Boulevard and progress to Price Road.
  • Partially pulverize Price Road in preparation for force main installation.
  • Complete road restoration on Ensley Road.
July 14, 2025

**Ensley Road north of Sherman Blvd is closed.**

**Sherman Boulevard will be closed from Ensley Road to Price Road starting July 10. See detour map.**

 

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 1,100 feet of force main in Ensley Road.
  • Milled eastbound lane of Sherman Boulevard from Ensley Road to Price Toad.
  • Began restoration along Apple Avenue.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue restoration efforts along Apple Avenue.
  • Complete force main installation in Ensley Road and begin laying pipe along Sherman Boulevard.

July 3, 2025

**Ensley Road north of Sherman Blvd is closed.**

**Sullivan Road and Apple Ave intersection closed.**

**Apple Avenue lane closure will be down by the end of today.**

**Sherman Boulevard will be closed from Ensley Road to Price Road starting July 10. See detour map.**

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 850 feet of force main next to Apple Ave.
  • Installed pipeline beneath high pressure gas line.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue restoration efforts along Apple Avenue.
  • Re-mobilize to Ensley Road and continue force main installation southward.
  • Close Sherman Boulevard and mill pavement in preparation for force main installation.

June 30, 2025

**Ensley Road north of Sherman Blvd is closed.**

**Apple Ave lane closure active between Sullivan Rd and Swanson Rd. Two-way traffic maintained through work area with automated flagger. Lane closure expected to last approximately one month.**

**Sullivan Road and Apple Ave intersection closed.**

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 850 feet of force main next to Apple Ave.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Install remaining force main next to Apple Ave.
  • Begin restoration of green space next to Apple Ave.

June 23, 2025

**Sullivan Road and Apple Ave intersection closed.**

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 900 feet of force main next to Apple Ave.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation on south side of Apple Ave.
June 16, 2025

  • Installed approximately 1,300 feet of force main next to Apple Ave.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation on south side of Apple Ave.

**Sullivan Road and Apple Ave intersection closed.**

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 500 feet of force main next to Apple Ave.
  • Jack and bore completed beneath Apple Ave.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation on south side of Apple Ave.
May 30, 2025

**Apple Ave lane closure active between Sullivan Rd and Swanson Rd. Two-way traffic maintained through work area with automated flagger. Lane closure expected to last approximately one month.**

**Sullivan Road and Apple Ave intersection closed.**

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 400 feet of force main next to Apple Ave.
  • Prepared site for jack and bore beneath Apple Ave near Sullivan Road.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation on south side of Apple Ave.
  • Jack and bore 48″ steel casing beneath Apple Avenue near Sullivan Rd.
