Project Information

Contract 3: Construct force main from Heights Ravenna Road to Muskegon County Resource Recovery Center.

Access/Traffic: Local traffic will be maintained during pipeline construction. There may be times when your driveway is inaccessible because pipeline construction is occurring in front of your house or driveway restoration is taking place. The contractor will work with you ahead of time and will make special access arrangements with you if needed.

Mail: Mailboxes that interfere with pipeline construction will be temporarily relocated so that mail service can be maintained during construction. If your mailbox needs to be temporarily relocated, the contractor will inform you of where it has been moved to and when they anticipate it will be returned to its original location.

Garbage Pickup: The contractor will work with you and your waste hauler to maintain service throughout construction. If pipeline construction interferes with your waste haulers ability to pick up your garbage, the contractor will temporarily move your garbage bins to a central location and return them to the end of your driveway by the end of the work day.

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed force main to south of Cranberry Creek.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation in Ensley Road progressing south.
April 1, 2025

Ensley Road Detour Route

**Enlsey Road north of Sherman Blvd is closed.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 3,100′ of force main north and south of Apple Avenue.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Install approximately 100′ of HDPE force main north of Apple Avenue and restore easement area.
  • Begin force main installation in Ensley Road progressing north to south.
March 21, 2025

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 2,700′ of force main north and south of Apple Avenue

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation north and south of Apple Avenue, approaching Hall Road north of Apple Avenue and Ensley Road south of Apple Avenue

March 14, 2025

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed approximately 1,000′ north of Apple Avenue
  • Installed approximately 800′ south of Apple Avenue

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation north and south of Apple Avenue.

March 7, 2025

Work completed/in progress:

  • Completed the Muskegon/Newaygo Branch Drain crossing.
  • Continued force main installation north of Apple Avenue, along the southern end of the storage lagoon.
  • Installed additional dewatering south of Apple Avenue.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation north of Apple Avenue.
  • Continue force main installation south of Apple Avenue.

February 28, 2025

Work completed/in progress:

  • Continued force main installation north of Apple Avenue. Installed force main along southern end of the storage lagoon.
  • Drain crossing delayed due to rain and snow melt.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation north of Apple Avenue.
  • Continue force main installation south of Apple Avenue. Complete crossing of the Muskegon-Newaygo Branch Drain and continue south.
February 21, 2025

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed force main adjacent to Sullivan Lift Station.
  • Continued force main installation south of Apple Avenue on MCRRC property.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation north of Apple Avenue. Install force main along southern end of the storage lagoon.
  • Continue force main installation south of Apple Avenue. Complete crossing of the Muskegon-Newaygo Branch Drain and continue south
February 7, 2025
Work completed/in progress:
  • Continued force main installation north of Sullivan Road on MCRRC property.
  • Began force main installation south of Apple Avenue on MCRRC property.
  • Force main materials staged along Ensley Road and traffic control installed.
Anticipated work activities for the coming week:
  • Continue force main installation north of Apple Avenue. Install force main adjacent to Sullivan Lift Station and along southern end of the storage lagoon.
  • Continue force main installation south of Apple Avenue. Prepare for crossing of the Muskegon-Newaygo Branch Drain.
January 24, 2025

Work completed/in progress:

  • No work Mon-Wed due to the winter storm.
  • Preparing work site for pipeline installation following winter storm. Continuing HDPE pipe fusion.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation north of Sullivan Rd on MCRRC property.
  • Second pipe crew on-site to begin force main installation south of Apple Avenue on MCRRC property.
January 17, 2025

Work completed/in progress:

  • K&R off-site for training. Force main installation to resume week of 1/20.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue force main installation north of Sullivan Rd on MCRRC property.
  • Second pipe crew on-site to begin force main installation south of Apple Avenue on MCRRC property.
  • No work planned for Monday or Tuesday due to cold weather.
