City of Ludington - Tinkham Avenue Reconstruction

Project Information

Work will consist of replacement of aging water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and a full rebuild of 0.3 miles of Tinkham Avenue from Lakeshore Drive to William Street.

Access/Traffic: Local traffic access to homes will be maintained. Through traffic will be detoured using Washington to Bryant to Lakeshore Drive. Access to Oriole Park will be from the north entrance on Lowell Street.

This was a productive first week of underground work with progress being made on both sanitary sewer and water main.

Work Completed This Week

  • Replaced the sanitary sewer from Park Street to the first alley to the east of Park Street and reconnected all properties.
  • Installed the water main from Park Street to Ferry Street.

Anticipated Work Next Week

  • Complete testing on the water main from Park Street to Ferry Street, assuming all tests pass, this main should be connected to the system by the end of the week.
  • Install storm sewer from Lakeshore to Gaylord.
  • Work on Sanitary sewer may begin from Gaylord to the east by the end of the week.

Work on Tinkham Avenue has now begun! Work will continue on this project until early July, please be aware of the posted detour around the site. Access to Oriole Field will be from Lowell Street until further notice.

Work Completed Last Week

  • Set up traffic control and detour signage.
  • Removed the roadway and completed the majority of the concrete removals along the project length.

Anticipated Work This Week

  • Continue removing concrete from the site.
  • Begin installation of water main and sanitary sewer west of Gaylord.
