Zeeland Charter Township - 74th Ave, Perry St, 76th Ave - Shared Use Pathway

Project Information

A shared-used pathway is being built on 74th Ave from Adams Street to Perry Street, along Perry Street from 74th Ave to 76th Ave, and along 76th Ave from Perry Street to Byron Road. This includes approximately 12,300 feet of 8-foot-wide paved shared use pathway, 230 feet of treated lumber boardwalk, retaining walls, and restoration.

Construction is planned to start March 17, 2025, and is expected to be completed by August 15, 2025.

Progress Report:  Riverworks Construction has completed the construction and framing of the fourth and final boardwalk location on 76th Avenue. They have pulled their equipment and materials off site.

Upcoming Work:  Work is anticipated to begin again in March, weather permitting. 

Progress Report: After limitations due to the weather, Riverworks Construction is continuing the process of framing the fourth and final boardwalk location on 76th Avenue.

Upcoming Work: Once Riverworks finishes framing the last boardwalk, they will pull their equipment and material offsite and wait until the spring thaw before returning to complete headwalls and wingwalls.

Progress Report: Riverworks Construction has completed framing for three of the four boardwalk locations on 76th Ave. They have now started framing the fourth and final boardwalk location.

Upcoming Work: Riverworks will continue work on framing the fourth boardwalk for the next few weeks, weather permitting.

Progress Report: Riverworks Construction has completed driving piles for all locations, and both boardwalk locations near the entrance to the Upper Macatawa Natural Area (East Entrance) have been framed.

Upcoming Work: In the coming weeks, the crew will continue work on framing and building out the boardwalks at the remaining locations, weather permitting.

Progress Report:

Riverworks Construction has finished driving piles for the boardwalk locations near the entrance to the Upper Macatawa Natural Area (East Entrance) and to the north near Byron Rd. Driving piles for the southern boardwalk location on 76th Ave is in progress.

Upcoming Work:

In the coming weeks, it is anticipated that Riverworks will finish driving piles and continue framing the boardwalks, weather permitting.
