Progress Report:
- New water mains were tested and passed in three blocks of Sanford from Summit to Oakwood. They were tied in yesterday at Summit.
- Three water services have been replaced to date to the new water mains.
- Storm sewer was replaced in the intersection of Summit and Sanford
- A new sanitary sewer manhole was replaced in the intersection of Amsterdam and Sanford
Upcoming Work:
- Water main will be cut in Broadway to allow for safe sewer construction in Broadway on Monday, April 7, 2025. There will be a short disruption to water service on Broadway between Sanford and 6th Street in the morning.
- Sanitary sewer main will begin to be replaced in Sanford from Broadway south to Summit
- Summit intersection will be reopened during the week, but it will be on gravel
- New storm drains and sewer pipe will be installed on Sanford from Summit south to Rotterdam
- When water flow is disrupted from connections or valve exercising, customers may experience air in their water lines and discolored water. Be sure to flush all lines, but especially the cold water through a bathtub or faucet without a screen and run until the water is clear.
Please remember that the streets are closed to thru traffic, but they will remain open to local residents. For the safety of workers, please avoid driving through the construction sites. No on-street parking is allowed within the construction zone.
