It is far overdue for a construction update on the work on Warner Street in the City of Whitehall. There were a few bumps this past week with some uncooperative water mains, but the water main work is getting very close to the end and we are nearing the next phase that everyone should love – Restoration! That means new road!
All water services are now tied over to the new water main on Warner between Benston and Slocum.
The Contractor is scheduled to finish this week the final connections of the new water main to the existing water system at Warner and Benston. This has proven a little more difficult than originally anticipated.
Work Scheduled for Week of August 5, 2024:
- Complete any remaining Water Main Tie-Ins not completed. This may involve work TOMORROW in the intersection of Benston and Warner which impacts industries.
- Patching the road where the water main crossed the road on Warner and on Side Streets
- Place top soil and grade out areas where the water main was placed outside the roadway
- Pour concrete curb radii
- Place Concrete driveway approaches
- Begin milling the remaining roadway for road resurfacing
Work Scheduled for Week of August 12, 2024:
- Mill the road for road resurfacing
- Complete any concrete work that remains for curb or driveways
- Mill asphalt driveways needed
- Begin preparing for road resurfacing between Benston and Colby
We hope to re-open the intersection of Benston and Warner next Wednesday, August 7, 2024 weather and subcontractor depending.
Intent is to have the entire project completed before Labor Day Weekend.
