This week, the Contractor began working on rebuilding the road base and they completed the remaining storm sewer work. Mailboxes were removed from the north side of the street and the remainder of curb, sidewalk, and driveway approaches were removed. Work was a bit delayed this week due to the rain events we received earlier in the week. Access remains open to all driveways and side streets.
We are over the halfway point in construction and we still appear to be on track schedule-wise with our first estimates for the timeline.
Here is what to expect next week, the week of September 3:
There will be no crews working tomorrow (Saturday) or on Monday, September 3 for the Labor Day Holiday.
The road crew will continue to cut material down to make room for the gravel road bed. The gravel will be shaped for the new roadway.
The roadway will certainly begin taking its new shape.
The bore and jack of the water main to Stratford under the hill at the east end of the job may begin next week.
Preparation will begin for installation of curbs later in the week or the following week.
