P&N Engineer Dan Sorek has met and/or spoke with many of you along Broadway Avenue over the last few days, weeks, months.
Here is our first construction update for the reconstruction of Broadway Avenue this summer. Please feel free to forward this on to other people who may not have received this and please let me know their email address so that I can keep them informed with future updates.
The work will begin on Monday, June 18, 2018. Temporary traffic control barricades and signs began showing up to the job site today and the detour signs are being installed.
Here is what to expect next week:
On Monday, Broadway Avenue will be COMPLETELY CLOSED to traffic at Bailey and at US-31. However, Broadway Avenue will still be accessible from the side streets (Bailey, Roberts, Valk, McDermott, Worden, Montana, etc.) for the duration of the construction project. At times, these may be closed, but we will keep access open to other streets and we will provide updates as these become known during construction.
Deliveries of construction equipment and water main materials will be delivered to the project site.
The pavement will begin to be removed on or around Wednesday, June 20, 2018.
Portions of the southern sidewalk will also be removed starting Wednesday, June 20, 2018.
The northern lane will not likely be removed and left in place for maintaining local traffic to and from homes and businesses
Access to driveways will be maintained.
