The construction contract was awarded to Montgomery Excavating by the Plainfield Township Board on June 12. Montgomery Excavating has worked on two other water main extension projects for Plainfield Township this year and is very familiar with the process that is in place for these projects.

Residents should have received a letter in the mail this week from Plainfield Township informing you of the tentative construction schedule. The letter also described the process for getting your water service installed on your private property into your house. If you did not receive this letter or have any questions or concerns, please contact Jeremy Kamp, P.E., Project Engineer.

Montgomery Excavating is working on obtaining bonds and insurance so that the construction contract can be executed. Montgomery Excavating intends to start construction as soon as the contract has been executed. Construction may commence on Laurentian Court as early as end of next week.

Montgomery Excavating will have two crews on this project. The first crew will work on the water main in Laurentian and Childsdale. The second crew will work on the water main along 10 Mile and Rogue Ridge. Construction in these two areas is anticipated to last one month. Once construction is wrapped up in the first two areas, Montgomery’s crews will move to the Rogue River Road area and install water main there beginning around mid-August.

Please contact any project representative if you have questions or concerns.
