Again, we missed another deadline. The road is ready for pavement, but subcontractor schedules unfortunately prevented the top course of asphalt from going down this week as originally planned.

This week, the Contractor has restored all the areas outside the paved surfaces with topsoil and hydroseed. The rain today was perfect timing to help the seeds germinate and we might even see grass growing as soon as next week. Signs were being installed this afternoon in the rain.

Here is what to expect next week, which should be our final week of construction, the week of October 14, 2019:

Top course of paving is now scheduled for Monday, October 14, 2019. The paving contractor will begin by paving the areas behind the sidewalk (asphalt driveways and other asphalt areas disturbed) and then will finish with the roadway paving.
Pavement striping will take place Tuesday, October 15, 2019 and the road should be open to traffic that day.
Punchlist work, final cleanups and removal of traffic control will round out the week and we should be fully complete by the end of next week.
Please allow a few hours for the fresh asphalt to cool before driving on it. Parking on the street is allowed over the weekend. All concrete driveways should be open except for the few that have some asphalt that need to be paved behind the sidewalk. Please do NOT cut through the gas stations at Getty to get around the barricades. Please remember to access homes south of Broadway from Summit and homes north of Broadway from Sherman.
