Approximately 500 feet of sanitary sewer and 1200 feet of water main have been installed to date, as shown on the map above. Work has been progressing as planned with relatively few issues. Soil and groundwater conditions have been favorable, helping to keep the project on track.
Construction of the sanitary sewer and watermain in the intersection of Territorial and Euclid is planned for Monday. Territorial with be closed with traffic redirected via a detour. The detour will follow a relatively long route, including Crystal, Britain, Benton Center, and Red Arrow Highway. The is expected to last one to two days before through traffic on Territorial is reopened on a gravel surface through the intersection.
Sanitary sewer installation along Euclid from Territorial Rd to Peterson Ave is planned to continue through the end of next week, as well as the installation of watermain crossing the intersections at Orchard Drive and at Peterson Ave.
Overall, the work appears to be on track for paving this first phase of the project in mid-November.
