Another busy and productive week on Broadway Avenue. As of early this afternoon, all of the concrete work is complete. Also, all of the underground utility work is complete as the water main was tied in this afternoon at Stratford under Broadway. All of the driveways with the exception of a few on old Broadway are good to drive on now. Gravel road base has been placed and is nearly fully graded to where it needs to be before paving. Please pay close attention to the side street closures as not all of them are open and some have large drop offs. Please do not move barrels if the roadway is closed. The Contractor is planning to continue working tomorrow (Saturday) getting things ready for paving next week. You may park overnight on Broadway outside of the contractor’s work hours (Roughly 7AM to 7PM).

Here is what to expect next week, the week of September 24, 2018:

The cul-de-sac at Stratford will be graded and prepared for paving.
Old Broadway alignment will be graded and prepared for paving.
Additional gravel will be delivered and the intersections will be prepared for paving.
Gravel will be placed on those driveways that will be getting asphalt and they will be prepared for paving.
Asphalt paving of the first layer is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
After the first course of asphalt is laid, the contractor will dig up the valve boxes and manhole castings and get them raised for the last layer of asphalt.
Restoration efforts will also begin with some topsoil and grading of areas behind the curb. Some of the grading work began today.
