Progress! As you can see, the first layer of asphalt went down this week! Driveways that were to be restored with asphalt were completed today which means all driveway work should be complete. The contractor also dug up some of the water main valve boxes and sewer manholes to get them adjusted to the final grade of asphalt. Grading of the yards has begun in preparation of topsoil. The Contractor could be working again tomorrow (Saturday) to finish some of the structure adjustments prior to final paving next week. All driveways and side streets should be open. Do not move any of the orange barrels as they may be protecting a manhole or water valve. You may park overnight on Broadway outside of the contractor’s work hours (Roughly 7AM to 7PM).
Here is what to expect next week, the week of October 1, 2018:
Topsoil will be delivered and the construction site will be cleaned up. Spreading of topsoil will go on for a few days with restoration.
Mailboxes will be re-installed to their new final locations. If you want/need a new post, please purchase one and the contractor will install it. Just place it near your old mailbox if it is still out there. The temporary mailboxes will be removed next week.
Video inspection of the new storm sewer pipes and any cleaning will take place.
New, permanent signs will be installed.
Guardrail will be re-installed near the bridge.
Final layer of asphalt paving is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 4, 2018.
Seeding of the restoration areas with seed
Broadway will be REOPEN TO TRAFFIC on Friday, October 5, 2018.
