As you can see, we have begun the next phase of improvements to the Broadway Avenue corridor between Getty and Bailey. This week, the Contractor set up the traffic control devices, the detour and began removing most of the pavement, the southern curb and gutter, sidewalk and sidewalk ramps. The northernmost lane was left in place similar to last year to allow traffic to access homes and businesses on Broadway. If you live north or south of Broadway, please DO NOT CROSS Broadway if you can help it. Please access homes south of Broadway from Summit and north of Broadway from Sherman. This will be safer for everyone involved. Please respect the construction signs and the road closed signage. The contractor set up ramps for the street crossings and for driveways and will maintain them through the project until the new pavement is installed.
Here is what to expect next week, the week of July 15, 2019
More road base (gravel) will be removed
Water main pipe will be delivered to the site and installation of the new water main will begin. The water main will take several weeks to install, but no disruptions to water service are anticipated until next month.
Drainage pipe and structures will be delivered to the site and new structures may begin to be installed.
Please let us know if you have any issues with mail delivery or garbage collection. Thank you for your patience as these changes occurred this week. Construction is expected to go until the end of September 2019 and the road is currently scheduled to be fully open to traffic on or around October 4, 2019 (weather permitting).
