It was an exciting week on Mears Avenue in Whitehall this week as we saw some serious progress towards completion! Here is a quick update on the construction progress on Mears Avenue in Whitehall recently and what to expect coming up:
Work Completed this Past Week
- Contractors graded the gravel and prepared it for asphalt
- Roadway was milled north of Benston and manholes were adjusted for the new pavement north of Benston
- Base course of asphalt was placed south of Benston to the curve south of Pinecrest
Work Anticipated Week of October 9, 2023
- Manhole structures will be raised south of Benston to final layer of asphalt elevation
- Paving of top course of asphalt for the entire project from Gibbs south to the curve south of Pinecrest will be done all at once – this could happen late in the week, or possibly early the week of October 16
- Signs will be replaced along the route
Work Anticipated Week of October 16, 2023
- If top course of paving wasn’t completed, it will be done this week
- Pavement markings will be completed
- Signage and restoration will be completed
- Reopen Road, remove traffic barricades – Job Complete!
