I hope everyone had a great weekend! Activity is about to happen along North Shore Drive this week!
Milbocker confirmed late last week that they are a couple days behind schedule mobilizing on site, but don’t let that worry you; Construction is coming and they are eager to get started! The schedule is the same as previously reported. The activities will be taking place at the end of the weeks rather than the beginning.
- Week of September 16–20
- Milbocker and their sub-contractors will mobilize equipment later in the week, install traffic safety signage and roll out the construction barrels, etc.
- Week of September 23–27
- Milbocker will start removing sand for installation of the retaining wall in the Grand Haven portion later in the week. The retaining wall installer will follow right behind this operation.
- Week of September 30–October 4
- Milbocker will continue wall installation.
Access to Homes
During the reconstruction project, you will always be able to get to your homes and property. There may be slight delays when they are actually working immediately in front of your property, so please be patient!
Services & Deliveries
We continue to work out details with the Post Office regarding mail delivery and trash haulers regarding trash pickups. More information to come this week regarding those details.
The contractor has proposed a more aggressive schedule that would complete the project much sooner in 2020. The details are being ironed out with cost implications and logistics that would impact the residents. I hope to have an update on this schedule by the end of this week in time for the next update.
I will stress job site safety in every update to come. This impacts everyone on site! Please, please use extra caution when you see workers working on the project and be aware of others traversing the construction site. Again, our goal is always zero personal injuries. Those living, working, and traveling within the construction site are the ones that will make that goal a reality.
