Well the weather has certainly turned to a more fall-like pattern, however, our North Shore Drive Reconstruction Project is heating up! There were some significant turning points for the project this week which are highlighted below.

The City of Grand Haven Council authorized the reconstruction contract with MDOT at Tuesday’s City Council meeting and MDOT finalized the contract on Wednesday. We have an officially authorized project now!

A pre-construction meeting was then held yesterday with MDOT, both municipalities, the engineers, and the contractor, and we now have a start date! The construction firm is Milbocker & Sons Inc. out of Allegan. They are a very well-known and respected construction firm. They will have very experienced crew on site and we expect nothing but the best from them!

Construction Schedule

Long-Term Schedule

More details are being ironed out regarding start date of the road reconstruction and paving schedule.

Access to Homes

During the reconstruction project, you will always be able to get to your homes and property. There may be slight delays when they are actually working directly in front of your property, so please be patient!

Safety

North Shore Drive will become a construction site very soon!  This means extra caution while traveling on it. Please, please make this site a safe site for all, especially for the men and women working on the project. Our goal is always zero personal injuries.  Those living, working, and traveling within the construction site are the ones that will make that goal a reality.

We are all looking forward to a safe and successful project and can’t wait for our residents to enjoy this important investment in our communities’ infrastructure.

Services & Deliveries

We are working with the Post Office regarding mail delivery and trash haulers regarding trash pickups. Those details will be forthcoming but we don’t anticipate much of a change on the residents’ side. All local deliveries will not be impacted, so no worries about your Amazon Prime packages being held up!
