Construction is set to begin on Monday August 26, 2024 on Stage 1 of this project. Closures will include 48th Ave between 200 feet south of Barry Street to south of Van Buren Street and Barry Street at 48th Ave. Traffic on 48th Ave will utilize Chicago Dr, 40th Ave, and Van Buren Street. Eastbound Barry Street traffic must seek an alternate route. Drivers will be notified on 72nd Ave before Barry Street of the closure on 48th Ave.

The Contractor will begin work on Stage 1 by accessing and tying into the existing 24-inch water transmission main 200 feet south of Barry Street. Work will then continue north towards Van Buren Street. Residents and UCHS will have access temporarily from Van Buren Street and Port Sheldon Street until the Contractor reaches Van Buren Street and closes it.

The Contractor is anticipated to begin Stage 2 and cross Van Buren Street on Thursday, September 19, 2024 (subject to change). Closures will include 48th Ave between 200 feet south of Barry Street through Van Buren St, Barry Street at 48th Ave, and Van Buren Street at 48th Ave. Traffic on 48th Ave will utilize Chicago Dr, 40th Ave, and Port Sheldon Street. Eastbound Barry Street traffic must seek an alternate route. Drivers will be notified on 72nd Ave before Barry Street of the closure on 48th Ave. Westbound Van Buren Street traffic will utilize 40th Ave, Port Sheldon Street, and 56th Ave. Access to UCHS will only be from Port Sheldon Street.

Stage 3 will begin when Van Buren Street opens, and the Contractor will continue north towards Unity Christian. Closures will include 48th Ave from north of Van Buren Street to the south drive of UCHS. Access to UCHS will only be from Port Sheldon Street. The south drive of UCHS will remain open until the anticipated closing date of Monday, September 30, 2024. At the end of Stage 3, the work area will be restored, and work will end for the winter.
