It’s been another week of progress along Kinney Avenue. Here’s what was done and what’s planned to come:
Work Completed Last Week
- Roadway subbase and underdrain continued to be installed on the GVSU Private Drive
- Storm sewer mainline was installed up to Hampton Lane and along the GVSU Private Drive near Kinney Avenue
- Rough grading for the east sidewalk along Kinney Avenue has begun
- DTE abandoned a section of gas main in conflict with the storm sewer just north of the GVSU Private Drive to allow for storm sewer installation this week
Anticipated Work This Week
- Brenner will install mainline storm sewer in the section near GVSU where the gas main was abandoned
- A road crew will arrive to begin installing subbase, underdrain, and aggregate base along the northbound lane of Kinney Avenue between the GVSU Private Drive and Hampton Lane.
- The southbound lane will may also be milled within this area by the end of the week
- Kent Power may begin installing gas services along Kinney Avenue
The 36-inch storm sewer is at its deepest near the GVSU Private Drive (over 16 feet deep).
Brenner Excavating and Prein&Newhof are working closely together to ensure the roadway is reconstructed according to the design plans.
