Work Completed Last Week

  • Mainline storm sewer was installed crossing Kinney at the GVSU Private Drive and north to the end of the gas main conflict.
  • Mainline storm sewer was also installed from Hampton Lane north approximately 200 feet.
  • Underdrain was installed and sand subbase was installed at the GVSU Private Drive.
  • Kent Power completed a tie-in to the existing gas main at Leonard Street and gassed up the new 8-inch main.  Gas services were installed along the west side of Kinney between Thornwyk Drive and Leonard Street.

 

Anticipated Work This Week

  • Brenner’s underground crew will continue to installed 36-inch and 30-inch storm sewer north along the east curbline of Kinney Avenue.
  • Brenner’s road crew is scheduled to arrive today to install aggregate base at the GVSU Private Drive and continue installing underdrain, sand subbase and aggregate base for the roadway along Kinney Avenue between the GVSU Private Drive and Hampton Lane.
  • The detention basin will soon be restored with topsoil, seed and mulch blanket after gravel is installed on the GVSU Private Drive.
  • Kent Power will continue installing services along the west side of Kinney Avenue working from Thornwyk Drive south to Lake Michigan Drive.

 

The southbound lane on Kinney Avenue will continue to be utilized with flaggers for local traffic between the GVSU Private Drive and the underground crew north of Hampton Lane.
