Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) of pipe at the east end of Crooked Lake has begun. Last week, the drilling subcontractor set up on-site to begin directional drilling from Crooked Lake to the proposed filter station.
This week, they anticipate installing the 12-inch pipe:
- Monday, they completed the pilot hole.
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, they anticipate digging the exit hole and reaming out the borehole to make room for the pipe.
- Friday morning, they will pull the pipe through the borehole.
Thank you for your patience as the Crooked Lake ramp will be used for about 15 minutes sometime between 7-9am on Friday, September 15 to float the pipe onto the lake and to the project site. The pipe will continue to be floated on Friday until it is fully installed. The contractor will properly flag and monitor its location to ensure no conflicts with boating traffic.
