Phase I –If you have any concerns regarding restoration or questions regarding your new water service, please reach out to the project email account – goodwoodwater@gmail.com.
Phase II – The project has been advertised through the City of Grand Rapids and bids have been opened. CL Trucking & Excavating out of Ionia was the low bidder and awarded the project. They have indicated they intend to begin work on Phase II either the week of August 12th or the week of August 19th. The contractor intends to work until mid-November of 2024 and then will continue work in the spring of 2025 until the project is complete. The initial schedule submitted by the contractor indicates that work will begin on Brookpoint Drive and Brookhills Court before moving on to Winterberry Court and Misty Lane Court. Weather dependent, the contractor may work on Woodbrook, Tricklewood Drive and Ridgemont Court yet in 2024.
Unlike the grants for Phase I, the Drinking Water State Revolving Funds (DWSRF) that have been obtained for Phase II do not allow for multiple plumbing companies to complete the services on private property. McDonald Plumbing was the low bidder on the Private Side contract and it is anticipated that they will be awarded the contract for all Phase II services in July. Once the contract has been awarded, the contact information for McDonald Plumbing will be posted to the website and homeowners will be encouraged to contact them for a quote specific to their property.
As a reminder, the quotes for the work that McDonald Plumbing will be providing will be paid for by the project. The only fees responsible for the homeowner would be the difference in price if one elects to proceed with copper instead of the default of plastic for the private portion of the water service.
