Dan Sorek Appointed to MDEQ Advisory Board of Examiners

Prein&Newhof is pleased to announce that MDEQ Director C. Heidi Grether has appointed P&N Project Manager Dan Sorek, PE to the MDEQ Advisory Board of Examiners.

Established in the Safe Water Drinking Act in 1976, the Advisory Board of Examiners is responsible for reviewing applicants for certification of drinking water (distribution and treatment) operators in the State of Michigan. The Board consists of one non-voting department staff representative and nine voting members who have expertise in water treatment and distribution. Dan’s term is set for three years.

Dan is both a licensed professional engineer in Michigan and a licensed Waterworks System Operator. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University. He is active in professional associations, currently serving as Secretary for the American Public Works Association (APWA) Midwest Michigan branch and as Co-Chair for the Michigan Section American Water Works Association (AWWA) Water Distribution Systems Practices Committee.
