Neighborhood Improvement Assistance available from MSHDA

Michigan State Housing Development Authority’s (MSHDA) MiNeighborhood program provides technical assistance and guidance to available resources that help improve residential areas in the proximity (within a ¼- ½ miles) of traditional commercial districts.

Design Workshop Grants for Rural Communities

The Citizens’ Institute on Real Design will match $7,000 in funds to support planning for and hosting a two-day design workshop focused on enhancing quality of life and economic vitality in their communities (50,000 people or fewer).

Michigan Historic Preservation Network (MHPN) Loan Program

What: A fund that provides loans for repairs to historic buildings.
How Much: $1,000 to $15,000
For Whom: Non‐profit organizations, municipalities, Downtown Development Authorities (DDA), and religious organizations that own property that is more than 50 years old.
