Congratulations to Prein&Newhof Senior Project Manager Barbara Marczak, PE who recently received the Raymond J. Faust Award from the Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA–MI).
This award recognizes outstanding personal service in the water supply field. The award commemorates Raymond J. Faust for his contributions to safe public health engineering practices, his advancement of sound water supplies, and his dedication to building and promoting the waterworks industry.
In her 32 years at Prein&Newhof, Barbara has worked to provide and improve municipal water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment facilities, stormwater management systems, groundwater remediation systems, and wellhead protection programs. She has also conducted many hydrogeologic studies for municipal and private water supplies.
Barbara has been an AWWA member since 1986 and has served on the Michigan Section’s Board of Trustees, Membership Committee, and Education Committee. She served as Chair of AWWA–MI when the Flint Water Crisis first became state and national news. Barbara is currently on the Michigan Membership Council and the AWWA International Association’s Membership Committee.
Barbara is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan since 1990, with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan. At P&N, Barbara also plays a vital role as a Senior Project Manager, Team Leader of the company’s Muskegon office, and member of the Board of Directors.
