P&N Engineer, Brian Merk, earns PE License

Prein&Newhof is proud to announce that P&N Engineer Brian Merk has earned his Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Michigan.

To earn the PE License in the State of Michigan, one must complete a four–year college degree, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, work under a Professional Engineer for at least four years (three years for those with a graduate degree), and pass the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam. This extensive process ensures competency in the profession.

Brian joined P&N in 2015, after graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Transportation focus. At P&N, he assists with the design and construction of airport projects around the state. He also works on site development projects that involve the design of pavement, grading and drainage, storm sewer, water main, and sanitary sewer. Brian is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Building expertise is one of the values we strive towards. We applaud Brian for holding himself to the highest standard in his profession and congratulate him on this achievement.
