P&N Engineer, Tom Wheat, honored with MSPE Engineer of the Year Award

Michigan Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE) recently announced its state award winners. We are pleased to share that Prein&Newhof Senior Project Manager Tom Wheat, PE was selected as the 2021 MSPE Engineer of the Year.

Wheat began his career in 1988 after graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He earned his Professional Engineer License in the State of Michigan in 1995.Wheat has been a member of MSPE for 26 years, and has previously served as MSPE State President, State Vice President, Chapter President, Chapter MATHCOUNTS Coordinator, Chapter Secretary, and Chapter Director.

Wheat joined Prein&Newhof in 1997. Today, as a Senior Project Manager, he focuses on municipal engineering, including water and wastewater systems, roadways, stormwater systems, and construction management. Wheat also serves as the Team Leader for Prein&Newhof’s Kalamazoo office, and he is a member of the company’s Board of Directors and its Executive Committee.

This is a significant recognition by MSPE that Tom has undeniably earned.
