P&N’s Tom Smith, PE becomes chair of Michigan Section AWWA

Tom Smith, P.E. became Chair of the Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association this month. Tom  is a project manager specializing in hydraulic engineering and modeling at Prein&Newhof.

Tom has served AWWA in several positions over the past years, including:

  • Board of Directors, 2007–present
  • Source Water Protection Committee
  • Dist. System Practices Committee
  • Water System Security Committee
  • Communications Committee
  • Educational Committee
  • Membership Committee

The American Water Works Association is an international non-profit, scientific and educational association founded to improve water quality and supply. Established in 1881, it has a membership of around 50,000 members worldwide.
