Prein&Newhof Engineer, Dan Sorek, appointed as APWA-MI Vice President

Prein&Newhof is pleased to announce that P&N Project Manager Dan Sorek, PE has assumed his new position as Vice President for the American Public Works Association (APWA) Michigan Chapter, in addition to his role at our company. With approximately 650 members in Michigan and 30,000 members worldwide, APWA supports professionals who operate, improve, and maintain public works and infrastructure.

Sorek became a member of APWA after earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University, while working as Water/Wastewater Services Superintendent for the Holland Board of Public Works. He has been actively involved in this volunteer-driven association for 15 years.

Sorek joined Prein&Newhof in 2014, and he has over 20 years of experience in the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of public water distribution and wastewater collection utilities, as well as vast experience in public infrastructure budgeting and planning. He is both a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan and a Licensed Waterworks System Operator.

We wish Dan Sorek all the best as he takes on this additional leadership responsibility for APWA-MI as it continues its mission to provide varied educational and networking opportunities for public works professionals in Michigan.

Dan Sorek recently helped coordinate the APWA Midwest Michigan section’s annual SnowPlow Roadeo and Equipment Expo, as seen in the video above.
