Ralph the moose oversees new bridge installation in Cannonsburg

Ralph the moose is an iconic figure in the tiny Kent County crossroads known as Cannonsburg. He is the brainchild of Cannonsburg business mogul and unofficial ‘mayor’ Don Kurylowicz. Today, Ralph—properly attired in a construction safety vest—was on hand to watch contractors lift a prefabricated steel trail bridge into place. The bridge over Bear Creek is a vital link on a new trail being built between Cannonsburg and Townsend Park in Cannon Township. When it opens, users can walk from Cannon Township Hall all the way to the Honey Creek Inn! Cannon Township and MDOT funded the $777,000 trail project, which should be open to users by Labor Day.
