City of Rockford’s wastewater system evaluation predicts significant savings

January 17, 2017

The Rockford Squire recently published an article discussing Prein&Newhof’s partnership with the City of Rockford to evaluate its stormwater and wastewater systems. The City was awarded nearly $850,000 through the MDEQ’s SAW (Stormwater, Asset Management, and Wastewater) Program. This has enabled Prein&Newhof to collect and analyze data on the condition of Rockford’s stormwater and wastewater systems. With the resulting tools and knowledge the City can invest wisely by making improvements to critical areas first.

Read the full story here, to learn more about how MDEQ’s investment in Rockford’s asset inventory is helping the City identify inefficiencies in its infrastructure that, with improvement, can save Rockford $60,000 to $80,000 annually.
