Congratulations to P&N Civil Engineer Mike Schwartz, PE who is now serving as President of the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE). Mike has been a member of the Southwest Chapter of MSPE for 18 years, and won its Young Engineer of the Year award in 2007.
MSPE has 1,002 members divided among 12 chapters representing 18 engineering disciplines in the areas of Construction, Government, Industry, Higher Education and Private Practice. It serves as a voice for all engineers by monitoring, initiating, communicating, and acting on legislation and government issues that affect Professional Engineers.
Since joining Prein&Newhof in 1998, Mike has become a valuable asset to the clients he serves. He is involved in many municipal projects, including water and wastewater systems, roadway design, storm water systems, and asset management. Mike also works on many private projects, such as residential plats, condos, and planned unit developments, commercial and industrial sites, schools, apartment complexes, and golf courses. These projects require engineering design in compliance with local and state codes for sanitary sewer or septic systems, water systems, storm water systems, parking lots, and streets.
