Progress Report:
- The contractor has installed the mainline valve and hydrant in front of the N. Schut Greenhouses. The contractor will continue to install water main to the north as testing is performed next week.
- The contractor has also begun the sanitary sewer crossing under Rush Creek.
- The road remains closed to through traffic and should not be used except for local traffic only. Local traffic should proceed with caution and be mindful of the workers present.
Upcoming Work:
- The contractor will test the water main that they’ve installed so far next week. The contractor will continue installing water main to the north while testing occurs.
- The sanitary sewer crew will continue working on crossing Rush Creek most of next week.
Note:
Local traffic needing to access to Sutherland Springs Condominiums should do so through from the south (using Port Sheldon Street) if possible. While the contractor will continue to maintain emergency access to 48th Avenue from either direction, there may be delays for non-emergency traffic as necessary equipment moves around the site.
We ask the public to respect the workers and the closed road. Police will continue to monitor the site to ensure safe working conditions and to ensure the road is only being used by those who live or work on this road. Local traffic should continue to be especially mindful as the contractor will continue to rebuild 48th Avenue next week.
